Fried Lamb / Beef in a sweet soy sauce
The original recipe tongseng used lamb meat but because stock of meat in my freezer only beef, then I substitute lamb meat with beef. After being cooked and in tasted it seems ... yummy....:)
Fried Lamb / Beef in a sweet soy sauce
The original recipe tongseng used lamb meat but because stock of meat in my freezer only beef, then I substitute lamb meat with beef. After being cooked and in tasted it seems ... yummy....:)
Ingredients:
350 gr lamb/ ( I used Beef )
5 shallots
4 cloves garlic
4 chili red
500 ml water
4 tbsp sweet soy sauce
1/2 tsp pepper
1-2 tbsp lime juice
5 cabbage leaves
salt to taste
sugar to taste
3 tbsp oil
Method:
Cut the meat into cubes. Slice the shallots, the garlic and the chilli’s fine. Slice the cabbage into small pieces.
Heat in a wok the oil and fry the garlic until golden brown. Add the shallots and chilli’s then fry them until soft.
Add the meat followed by water, sweet soy sauce, the pepper, the salt and the sugar and let it simmer slowly until the meat is tender and sauce has thickened. Add the cabbage and the lime juice, let it simmer until it is cooked.
